JEE Examination - All you want to know
The Government of India (GoI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing organisation under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for undertaking efficient, transparent, and international standardised tests in order to evaluate the expertise of aspirants for enrollment to premier universities and colleges, with a mission to improve equity and quality in education by developing nations.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is being administering the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN since 2019. Until 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) administered this examination.
JEE Main is valid for admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs that participate in the Central Seat Allocation Board, provided that the candidate obtained at least 75% in the 12th class examination or was in the top 20%ile in the 12th class exams administered by the various Boards. The qualifying marks in the 12th class test for SC/ST candidates would be 65 percent.
